What to Expect

Information for your first Stroller Strides class

BEING PREPARED

When you come to class, please bring:

  • water
  • sunblock
  • mat or towel for abdominal exercises
  • baby essentials
  • stroller (any type is fine)
  • eat a healthy breakfast or light snack before coming to class - this is very important if you are a nursing mother
  • consider bringing a post-class snack with you, especially if you plan to stick around after class to let the kiddos play in the park

FUSSY BABIES

Our first priority is the happiness of your baby. Our instructors are here for you and are happy to assist you. This is YOUR workout. Because we stop in regular intervals for body toning, you can always catch up with us if you do happen to fall behind. If your baby ever fusses so much that you miss class, we will be happy to credit you another class. Our instructors will do their very best to make every class enjoyable.

EXERCISING PRE AND POST BABY

Always obtain your physician's approval before beginning any exercise routine. Unless you have a medical condition that limits you, your physician will typically give the thumbs up at 6 weeks postpartum. We encourage expectant moms to continue to exercise through their pregnancy as long as everything has been approved by their physician. Instructors are trained in both pre and post natal fitness and follow ACOG guidelines. We can modify any exercise that poses an issue as you progress through your pregnancy.

YOUR WORKOUT

These classes are no walk in the park... In just one hour you will get a complete head to toe workout that will have you feeling energized and looking fit! Classes are designed for ALL different fitness levels and are taught by certified instructors who are also moms. During our stations, we use resistance bands, open fields for drills or obstacles, benches or steps and anything in the environment to give you a great workout!

STROLLER FORM

As you walk, lead with your chest and keep your shoulders pulled back and down. Wrists should remain in neutral alignment and keep your hips close to your stroller.

STAYING IN THE STROLLER

We know your kids often want to get out of the stroller and join in the class, but we ask that you keep them in their stroller for the whole workout. Their safety is our biggest priority!

SHARING THE ROAD

We share the road with many walkers, runners, bicyclists, etc. Please keep to the right and pass on the left.
