We are excited to announce our MOM (Motivating Mom of the Month) for July! Each month we take a moment to recognize one of our local FIT4MOM Palos Verdes & San Pedro mamas for her hard work and dedication to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Meet Codi Sullivan! Codi is our Motivating Mom of the Month for July! Codi is an inspiration for our entire village. Even on mornings when Codi only gets 4 hours of sleep, she is still at Stroller Strides ready to workout! Codi is mama to Eddie & Scottie and is a wonderful part of our village!
We asked Codi a few questions, and here is what she had to say:
Who are the members of your family?
The Sullivan's: Husband- Eddie IV, oldest son- Eddie V, and Irish twin brother- Scottie T.
When did you come to your first FIT4MOM Palos Verdes & San Pedro workout and who or what got you there?
I first joined stroller strides in March 2016 after my first son was born. My good friend Gail Cigliano introduce me to the village as she has been a member since 2013.
What is your FIT4MOM why - what keeps you coming to workout, keeps you involved?
As all moms, my "why" is to get back into my pre pregnancy shape, especially after 2 straight years of being pregnant. I also think it's very important to introduce your children to others socially at a young age and to just get them out of the house period. Not just for them but for myself.
What is one of your favorite exercises you have done with FIT4MOM?
Some of my favorite exercises are "the Cupid shuffle" and the baseball dice roll. The Cupid shuffle is the famous wedding dance song that gets everyone on the floor and at Stroller Strides it has the same effect on us moms! We really get in to it and have a lot of fun! The baseball dice game is more of a competitive game and me playing softball all my life I was stoked about getting back on the field!
Any advice for other moms out there?
"Embrace the struggles and let it make you stronger. It won't last forever." Moms we're all in this whirlwind of motherhood together. No one is alone. It's hard and exhausting but in a blink of an eye our babies won't be babies anymore.
