April MOM - Nia

Mom of the Month - April

We are excited to announce our MOM (Motivating Mom of the Month) for April! Each month we take a moment to recognize one of our local FIT4MOM Palos Verdes & San Pedro mamas for her hard work and dedication to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Meet Nia Young. Nia is our Motivating Mom of the Month for April! Nia is an inspiration for our entire village. Nia is mama to Charlotte and is a wonderful part of our village!

"Nia is a very warm-hearted mama! She keeps it real and is so relatable as a mom friend. She shows amazing strength and I love working out with her." - Instructor Jenna

"I was so happy to hear that Nia was going to be April's Mom of the Month! She has a kind heart, easy-going personality and a secret super-power strength (climbing the walls, lol). I also enjoy hearing fun stories about her baby girl, Charlotte 😊" - Instructor Domini

"Nia is full of positive energy. She genuinely cares about the other moms and kiddos in our village. Both her and Charlotte always have smiles on their faces. I love watching little Charlotte play with the other kiddos after class. We love having you and Charlotte in our village!"- Instructor Jen

We asked Nia a few questions, and here is what she had to say:

Who are the members of your family?

Mark, Nia and Charlotte

When did you come to your first FIT4MOM Palos Verdes & San Pedro workout and who or what got you there?

We just moved to this area last June and I needed to hang out with other moms. I googled Mom groups and came across the Fit4Mom Long Beach at first which led me to the San Pedro/Palos Verdes group. I was excited since it’s close to the house.

What is your FIT4MOM why - what keeps you coming to workout, keeps you involved?

I joined because I needed to be around people who are going through the same thing. Most of my friends don’t have kids so it was hard to share or vent to them and I also needed new Mom friends who live in the area.

What is one of your favorite exercises you have done with FIT4MOM?

I love any upper body exercise because i need the strength to carry flailing toddler around.

Any advice for other moms out there?

Find your tribe. Find your support. I guarantee that the mom next to you is going through the same thing. Being a mom can be isolated but it doesn’t have to be when you’re surrounded by a village of moms.
